Evaluation- Question 4

Who would be the audience for your media product?

The audience is a big influential factor of the success of any media product therefore the target audience has to be very specific in any sense, there has to be a certain amount of detail to this idea. Your target audience is who you create the product for, but within this you have to have audience research into this idea, in some situations the audience has either been a lot more (Mass audience) or narrowed down by a great deal of people (becomes a niche audience
The name of my product 'UNPLUGGED' is to be aimed at an audience of both genders aged between 14-25. This is where most people start to realise who they really are. This is not always the case for everyone but this is a good area to go on, this way the language can be very structured and detailed but not completely aimed for highly intelligent people.
My product is aimed at both genders as I think this will broaden the success of my product and helps me to connect with more people and do not have to make the language used gender specific. I feel that using a unisex audience helps the audience to understand that different people have different views.
The age range that I have used is very suitable for my magazine, this is because the age is enough for the audience to be able to read well. The audience can read long paragraphs without losing interest and can include content that is not seen as inappropriate. I have found a suitable age that can exceed the watershed time on TV therefore are accessible to swearing and slightly inappropriate content.

I have also thought about the use of technology that my audience might use. I would have my product as print media, however I know that my target audience would be more inclined to use social media and other technology to look at my product. There are multiple companies/institutions that use online reading as a way to attract their audience, therefore I would also think that being able to incorporate E-media to my product would make it more successful.

I have thought that there are both types of smartphones, Iphone and android that would have access to this E-media. However they would have to either subscribe or buy the product individually, as this would cost my institution to create this.
